Hello there! I will be eligible to apply for citizenship next year if our new Prime Minister will go back to the old rule. (counting the days landed in Canada before PR)

Anyway, my question is that, is there somebody here who used their DIPLOMA/TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS instead of taking IELTS to apply for citizenship...???

I found this:

Select one of the following types of proof to submit with your application:
Results of an accepted third-party test - •Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program General Test (CELPIP-G) or the CELPIP-General LS
•International English Language Testing System (IELTS),

AND THIS:
Proof of completion of a secondary or post-secondary program conducted in French or English, either in Canada or abroad, includes: •A diploma or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating the successful completion of a program, in French or English, either in Canada or abroad, or
•A diploma or certificate from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating successful graduation from a program conducted in French or English, either in Canada or abroad.

I graduated in the Philippines with a Bachelors degree in Communication Arts. And used English as the language of communication/ teaching. And I also have IQAS assessment here in Canada.

I'm just looking for somebody who used this route than taking the IELTS which is $300. lol.

Thank you very much!

Don't build too much hopes on the promises for the pre-PR time to be counted, it may or may not happen. Or might happen in a time-frame which will no longer be helpful to you. As to the language skills proof, you should be fine as long as you can provide proof to what you have stated.

My wife used her pharmacy degree from back home as the language requirement. It was printed in English but no where on the degree it said that the program was comleted in English medium (which it was). Anyways, they never commented anything in regards. During her test/interview she took her original certificate but was never asked to show any documents to prove the language requiremnt.

My cousin used his secondary education certificate from back home as well without any issues!

Thank you so much! :) just wanna make sure (though it is stated on the website) that I can just use my diploma and my TRANSCRIPT of RECORD.
Since I was sponsored under Spouse category , I never had IELTS though ofcourse I can get the exam If I want to and needed. Since I have another option and can save $300 then that's good! Thank you again! :)

No problem!!! I sponsored my wife as well, she never had IELTS either...her pharmacy degree from backhome worked just fine. Now, when you actually apply, I am not sure what the rules will be. So keep yourself up to date with CIC rules and regulations.
