Hello there,

My occupation is that of Software tester. I have over 8 years experience in the field however, I am currently a stay-at-home-mum with my little boy. The other thing is that i'm expecting our second child in February.

The dilemma I have is that I think my occupation is in high demand out there but am worried that if I put myself on the form as the principal applicant, the embassy will refuse me immediately because of my current situation.

On the simplified application form it asks you what your current occupation is. Housewife or the like doesn't look too great or impressive in their eyes. Do you think they will keep in mind my real occupation (software tester), or reject us immediately on seeing what my occupation is right now?

Is there anyone out there who has had this dilemma before?

Your thoughts and opinions would very much be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Mani

On the form you only fill in occupations within the last 10 years. It doesnt matter so please go a head and apply. But you must have reasonable reason for the years you have stayed at home raising children and what other things you have done.

Not sure what your situation is but hope its going well whatever stage you're at.
