I am very stymied - even after reading several topics on this very forum, about how visiting Canada from the Philippines is supposed to work.
Some clarification:
I myself live in Canada. My girlfriend lives in the Philippines. I've read the requirements and comments here, and if you will bear with me, I have some questions:
1. Should we be completely honest about our relationship? Will it not hurt our chances of her coming here?
2. We are acutely aware we don't have the strongest of strongest cases; she does not have a full-time job and is not in university. She took a 2 year college clerical course and that's all. So, with a less than ideal situation in mind can anybody recommend absolutely anything that could strengthen our chances of CIC accepting her for a visitor visa?
3. I have read both nightmare stories and some encouraging ones.. generally speaking, what is it like dealing with the CIC?
I am sorry if this is vague or redundant, but I had to lay out our own particular case and I'm hoping people here can be helpful.
