Hi all. I'm David and I am from Ireland.

There seems to be lots of useful information out there if you are planning on travelling to Canada to find work but I'm still confused when it come to a few things. Please bear with me as i may ask a few silly questions but this is a big move for me and if i don't do it right i will be left with nothing but more debt.

I plan on applying for the 24 month work visa tomorrow when they are released for Ireland. I wish to travel to Toronto and begin looking for work immediately to support myself and hopefully when I'm settled i will send money home monthly to pay off debt. My short term goal is to secure full time work with decent pay and settle down. But i wish to find long term employment and get sponsored. Ireland is steadily getting worse and I want out.

A few questions
1 I traveled around Australia during 06/07. Do i need to get police certs for this? I have read a lot of different information and some of them are conflicting.

2 I intend to secure work in the construction industry or in some form of a woodworking workshop. I have no illnesses or ongoing medical conditions Do I need to get a medical check done with one of the registered doctors?

3 I have a qualification but it is not recognized in Canada. Its a Bs in Furniture Conservation and Restoration. I don't have much experience. I do have almost 10 years experience in the building trade. Is there really a construction boom in Canada at the minute and is it hard to find work there?

I have more question but i think that is enough for now.
All responses will be appreciated
Thanks
