Well not completely different. Just that my passport has one extra word in the first name.

I became a naturalized Canadian Citizen in the year 2000.
My name on the citizenship card, my current SIN card and all other documents both in Canada and Pakistan is same and consists of a ONE-word first name and a ONE-word surname.
Except my Canadian passport. My Canadian passport has one extra word in my First name. (which is my Dad's first name), so a two word first name and the same one-word surname.

So I'm running into confusion with this anomaly when filling some sponsorship forms.

Should I modify my next passport and apply for a name change omitting the extra word from my first name. (surname stays the same, first name after omission of the extra word from it becomes consistent with all other identity documents). My current passport expires in 2016 first half.

Whats your expert opinion?

In my opinion, for sponsorship papers, I stick with the official names listed on your Canadian citizenship certificate and other documents, including your driver's license, SIN and income tax filings.

You can always submit a name correction on your Canadian passport when you apply for a renewal.

So, you're saying

If My citizenship certificate shows my name as A C
Given Name: A
Last Name: C

and My Passport shows it as A B C
Given Name: A B
Last Name: C

Can I drop B from my passport so it becomes A C? just like all other documents including citizenship certificate show my name as A C.

Passport Canada is now under CIC who implemented a new policy that Passports will be issued in the names on the Certificate of Citizenship (CoC). I guess this is more of a problem for those who want an extra name added to their passport that is not on their CoC. Where you want a name dropped off then you just have to try it but in your case you will be following the new policy so I don't see how Passport Canada should have any issues with this.
