Hi,

I am currently living in Canada and have been working as a Land Surveyor for the last 6 months, I am considering moving to another employer to be hired as a field Engineer, both jobs fall under class A or B on the NOC list. Can I combine my 6 months surveyor expierance with my field engineer expierance to generate the 24 months required?? I dont want to leave my current job and waist the 6 months expierance if I will have to start over at my new job.

Also I see the work expierance must be 24 months of full time work, full time employment being classed as a 40 hour week. Over the christmass period I worked a few half weeks (24-30 hour weeks) but during the summer I worked a few 50+ hour weeks. Can extra hours worked during the summer be used to bring up weeks where you fall behind on hours??

Thanks,

Alan

Hi,

You can use the combined experience from both jobs as long as they are skill level 0, A or B.

It's 37.5 hours per week or 1950 hours per year. As long as it adds up to 1950 hours in a year you will be fine.

Thanks a million for the quick response.

So do you just need to generate 3900 hours of expierance? Would it be ok if it took 2.5 years (30 months) to work up the required hours?

Yes. The OP Manual for CEC says:

For the Temporary Foreign Worker Stream, the applicant must have 24 months of fulltime
equivalent Canadian skilled-work experience at NOC 0, A or B acquired in Canada,
within the 36 months preceding the date their application is made .

You can read OP Manual 25 here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25-eng.pdf
