Hi everyone,

I've worked for the same company since September 2010 and it wasn't until May 2nd 2011 that I got promoted to position that makes me eligible to apply 2011.

If I am getting my letter signed by my immediate boss, the regional director and the HR consultant can they be different dates?

For example:
My manager - May 2nd
HR - May 7th
RD - May 13

This is because they are in different locations so I need to mail the letter to HR and my RD

With that being said, can the letter start like this:

XXXX XXXXX has been working for this company since September 10th 2011 as XXXX position and got promoted to XXXX on May 2nd 2011. To date, he is still working for us.

At the end of the letter:

XXX XXXXX
Front Store Manager
Signature:
Date signed:

XXX XXXXX
Regional Director
Signature:
Date signed:

XXX XXXXX
Human Resources Consultant
Signature:
Date signed:

So is this acceptable?

Also, should they specify that I haven't taken any of my vacation days? I wonder if CIC considers this, I read on another post that paid vacations are not counted towards the skilled work experience. So far I have 6 days of paid vacations from last year that must be used before July 1st.

Thanks in advance.

that should be OK, but why do you have 3 people signing? It's not necessary, unless for some reason your company requires that.

No, the post you read is not correct, it doesn't matter whether or how many vacation days you've used. You are still "employed" during paid vacation - an unpaid leave of absence would be a different matter. The number of vacation days you receive should be part of the discussion of compensation (salary + benefits). If CIC wanted you to deduct your paid vacation days, they'd tell you to do that. :)

Thanks for your reply Jes.

Reason for 3 people signing the letter is that I wanted it to be more formal, but if you say is not necessary I'll get only my manager to sign it.

As for the letterhead, those sheets come with everything required (company logo phone number & address), but that address is Head Office which is in a different province, however the business card that will be attached shows the logo, store address, phone & fax number, email and website. So is it ok that the business card shows a different address than the reference letter? Or should it be specified in the letter?

Ie: Our Head Office is located at XXXXXX and the store this employee is working at is located in XXXX.

I work in a drugstore.

Thanks

I don't know if it makes a difference, but only my VP of HR provided me with a letter with all that information. One thing for sure is to make sure that the job description your company provides you with matches what you put down for your NOC code. I've read on other threads that some people were rejected because their job description disqualifies them (not in the 0, A or B categories).

True, my job title is Skill Level 0 but my duties are Skill Level B. Already checked with my manager, my duties match the ones in the NOC 6211 unit group and that is what I'm putting in my application.

I'm sure that is quite common -
