Difference of multiple and open visa for tfw

Hi I would like to know the difference of Multiple visa from open visa? A friend of mine told me that if one has his open visa he could apply for a PR even if his a temporary foreign worker (non-skilled) for 2 yrs now. If it's true, How can we change it from multiple to open visa? what are the requirements and procedures? and how long will it take to be process? thanks.....

Your friend is wrong. Eligibility to apply for PR has nothing to do with the type of Temporary Resident Visa you receive. And there are only two types of these visas, multiple entry and single entry. There is no "open" visa.
