Difference between Inland and Outland

Please explain me Difference between Inland and Outland. I want outland, but my spouse want inland. I think Singapore is faster.

Inland you are both in Canada and you can apply for a work permit. There is no appeal process if you are rejected.

Outland you can be in or out of Canada. You cannot apply for a work permit on an outland application. There is an appeal process if you are rejected.

Those are the main differences.
