Hello
Very thankful to have found this forum.
I have a question, re: overstay.
I am American and my girlfriend is Canadian. She lives in Hamilton. Ontario.
We currently have an outland application in process at Ottawa. We submitted in May 2014.
I have visited her in hamilton many, many times. Each time I come border crossing is smooth for me.
I came to visit on August 7th, and told the CBSA I was staying 35 days. He said okay and stamped my passport - all the stamp says on it is 'august 7'.
My stay turned out to be a longer. I ended up being able to leave on November 1.
Now our application on ecas was updated to 'decision made' last week, and I am nervous it will be rejected because I stayed in Canada longer than originally planned, by almost a month.
Is that considered an overstay? Will my application becomg rejected because of this?
Thank you for any input.
Marcus
