landed today using my COPR pls british passport

the border officer signed my copr kept a copy gave me my copy signed and stamped my passport - the stamp it's like a normal stamp you get when you come into canada plus he wrote the copr doc number under the stamp

is that all correct? I thought he would have stamped saying I was a PR or something along those lines can anyone confirm that it's all ok what he did

I was given no welcome to canada nothing seemed rushed to me..

The COPR is what states you are a PR. Our agent stapled my husbands into his passport.
What he did is correct.

as long as he stamped your passport and hand-wrote the COPR number under it, then it's all good. You can go to any Service Canada and get a SIN issued on the spot - the SIN card comes 10 days later but the SIN is active right there and then, so you can start working the next day if you want.
And since the border officer didn't say it: welcome to Canada :-)

My wife told me she has two copies of the COPR - one with her picture and one without. I assume one is CICs copy and the other is hers? is that correct?

yes, that's correct. When she lands, CIC will keep the one with the picture (to use for the PR card) and she will keep the signed COPR without picture.

it's a different one. With the signed COPR + the passport you can go to any Service Canada and they will issue a SIN on the spot. The SIN card will arrive 10 days later, but Service Canada will give you a letter with the SIN and it's active right away.
