Hi Forum members,
I am currently in Canada on implied PR status and now looking to apply Study visa for my sister. As CIC mentions that you should apply online, so we thought of applying ourselves. I have received Offer letter from Seneca college and now requiring some assistance -

1. Under SDS (Student Direct Stream), is it compulsory to pay 1st year tuition fees or can we pay for 1st semester for time being?

2. My PR application under CEC is in progress, so for question - ‘Do you have relative who is permanent resident’ - our answer should be ‘No’ and explain current status that it’s in progress?

3. For GIC, would It be okay if we submit all her fees from Canada (GIC plus tuition fees) or do we have to send money to India so that she can open GIC account from there?

4. She did Grade 12 in 2017 and after that she completed one year of Frankfinn course in Aviation, air hostess until 2018. While looking for Air hostess job in India, she started with ‘Hotel Management - Front desk’ job. By the end of 2019, when we planned for Canada, it got delayed due to Covid-19 and lockdown. So, there shouldn’t be any issue related to gap? Her course in Seneca that we choose is - ‘ Flight Services - Operations and Cabin Management - 2 years’?

Looking to your assistance.!

In India, Hospitality mgmt. qualifications are usually accepted for air hostess professions but in western countries it's very uncommon. Basically the course should be a step ahead, if the VO detects redundancy in the course load, she will be refused outright.

However, most probably the VO will view it as a mismatch unless you present a good detailed SOP. Even if she manages to get through this, there are numerous criteriums which she must demonstrate.

Some people have had success with similar profiles on this forum but be advised that the chances are very slim unless you seek professional help. She must manage to get an approval in the first attempt, re-applying after an refusal is futile specifically for her case since a lot of factors outweigh against her (you being in Canada one of them) .

The course needs to show logical career progression in light of her background and future prospects back in India.

The course needs to show logical career progression in light of her background and future prospects back in India.
So, clarifying on career progression - 1 year course in India related to Air hostess training and now we have opted 2 years of Flight services course so that she can up-skill and gain international credentials before applying to future prospects in India. Wouldn’t this justification in SOP be legit?
