hi all,

i need a detailed over view how should i go for my visa,
1-i got married through telephone, i was in pakistan and my wife was in canada, the decision was lill quick as i have to leave paksitan for my job.
2-i have relatonship evidences but i dont have any picture both of us togather, altough e mails+cars+other gifts which i use to send to her i have all of them.
3- due to my work nature i have to travel alot and most of the time i have to stay in afghanistan, what i need is to confirm that being a pakistan national afghanistan visas will effect my case ( i have work visas) i am asking this question becasue of sensitivity of relationship between these countries.
4- my wife up till now has not received her notice of assessment but she has her tax recipts, can she file my case without notice of assessment or she has to wait for it?
5- practically what is the maximum time line for islamabad to process case completly?
6- i am confused about sponsorship approval, i really dont get this term what is the background of this?

please provide me any info which can help me.

You got married over the phone? Do you have a marriage certificate or proof of the marriage? Proof of a relationship before the marriage??

It could take anywhere from 6 months to years to get a visa, is my say.

Phone (proxy marriages) are recognized in Pakistan, so Canada recognizes them as well. Mind the bona fides are checked fairly closely.

one more thing i wanna ask i work in Ernst and Young
and because of my work nature i have to travel alot and the details of passport i have dubmitted is now about to getting filled up next week, what should i do ?

I'm no expert, but since no one else is replying, I'd suggest:

Go Get a New Passport (KEEP YOUR OLD ONE FOR REFERENCE).
Fax and or Scan all the pages (I'd suggest doing both)

In the subject line of the email or fax cover page, you can try to write something like "Urgent! Acknowledgement of Reciept needed!"

In the body of the email or fax Include your name, file no., D.O.B. and Country of Origin. As well, explain you are sending them a copy of your NEW passport. Include your old passport number and a current phone number and email address for you.

If you fax - I'd also email them immediately, alert them to check the fax machine and ask them how to proceed.


Like I said - I'm no expert, but that's what I'd do.

one more question how long it will take to get the notice of assessment if you are filing it for the first time,
and can my wife file my case without the notice of assessment with another documnet stating that when the notice of assessment will arrive she will send it.

Hi,
I called the Canada Revenue 2 days ago asking for original Option C Notice of Assessment print out and they told me it will take 5-10 days before you receive it by mail.

Hi,
You're welcome! When you applied for a tax return last year, the Revenue Canada will send you a Notice of Assessment. Specifically, one of the requirement in Spousal Sponsorship is a print out Option C from Canada Revenue so I called them 2 days ago on Monday. I'd like to call the CIC whether the original NOA will do as It will take 5-10 days for me to receive the Option C. I've secured everything except this as I'm not too sure if to submit the NOA or wait for the Option C as they are just similar.
