DEPORTED FROM USA

Hi there;

I was deported from USA back in 2007. I am planning in continuing my education at a Canadian University, and maybe after I complete my course of studies, apply for PR status. I was deported on grounds of a denied asylum application, with no criminal records, my question are,

1.- Does the U.S/Canada share information about deportees?
2.- Would the fact that I was deported form USA affect my student visa application in any way?

Your cooperation is highly appreciated. I know that immigration cases vary depending on the individual, but if you're not certain of the answers to my question, please refrain from posting any, since it would confuse me more rather than clarifying my doubts, God Bless!

1. Yes, so better answer the question about refused/removed truthfully.
2. Yes, your claim to Refugee status in the US will ring bells with CHC that you won't go home after your studies.

A friend of mine was placed on deportation in the U.S in 2006 after his application for assylum was deemed incredible and denied.Then he moved to Canada applied for assylum did not mention the U.S and got approved for assylum .How did this work if they realy do share infor? This is what I think if either one of the two countries request information about someone they'll share but if they process an application without seeing the need to request that infor then you might get away with the deportion issue not coming up in the process. If you were applying to immigrate and told them about the deportation in the US which is not criminal it will not affect your application in anyway. Personally I will take my chances.

People will always come up various scenarios of other people who got away with deceit and concealment in issues like this. All i will say is that every case is different, and to each his own.

Here in the UK, i have seen cases where people have had their Indefinite Leave To Remain Visas revoked, just because their previous dodgy identities came to light, after say a routine Police patrol stop n search with fingerprints taken.

Even citizenships can now be revoked, once the authorities find out it was obtained by deception. You cannot really be too sure about these things, you just never know what may come up a few years down the line.

He is not a bad person he just did it b/c he thought it will stand on his way in getting his stay in canada.Had he know if he told CIC the truth about his US assylum application he would have had his papers regardless he would have told them the truth.Not that I'm making excuses for him but Lots of people are luck b/c they have this forum to rely on he did not know this forum and hard limited infor as to his process and his goal was to get his papers and did .We all know the truth is always the best way to go but somtimes people just find themselves in a lie in this case it saved the situation.

That could be the case for a lot of people. Should we all lie about our pasts because something we did may stand in our way of immigration? This lie will hang over him like a shadow for the rest of his life. It takes one person who knows about this to get pissed off at him and rat him out and then he's gone. PR that is obtained by a lie will be removed and if you get citizenship based on a PR that was based on a lie, same thing. It is about the only thing that can get your citizenship removed.

agree with Leon...

your PR and acquired citizenship can be revoked if anytime your are found as a threat to the society or found to have misrepresented something in the immigration app.
