Hi i need help.
My family just arrived 3 months ago. My husband and i are not in good terms prior to coming here.yet still i add him as my dependant thinking that he will have change here and be mor responsible.
He arrived with my daughter but on at the very 1st day of his arrival he was being emotional and verbally abusive.towards me.. We always had a fight every single day and it stresses me and my daughter.it comes to point that he became physically abuasive so i decided one day to asked him to leave.cause i dont feel
Safe anymore.
Now he is threathening me of deporting for the reason that im dating someone.is that could be a ground for deportation?please i need an answer.

Dating someone is not grounds for being deported. Don't listen to him and move on with your life. You were the primary applicant in the first place. You also can't have him deported. Actually nobody can have people have people deported you can only report concerns to IRCC and they will determine if the concern is valid and do an investigation.

No, that’s not a reason for deportation. As previously stated, move on and stop worrying about his threats.

IF both of you landed as PR, you have both right to stay regardless how your relationship will look like. So on a practical level you can choose separation and later on divorce (or go for divorce). But that will not change status of neither of you (regardless who was dependant and who was main applicant).

Situation would be different if you were here on temporary visa and one of you had spousal open work permit. Would you divorce or go for the separation process, the one that does have currently a spousal opened work permit would be the one to loose it.

Just to clarify, YOU were the principal applicant, and HE was a dependant?

There is NO risk to your PR status. Start divorce proceedings as soon as you are eligible to do so.

I'm not sure that is correct. The spousal OWP would not be cancelled when the relationship ends but would be valid up to the stated expiry date.

He can say whatever he likes.

1) you are NOT the sponsor. You are the principal applicant. Totally different.
2) you have NO immigration responsibility to him as a dependent family member.
3) For the last time, you are NOT at risk of losing your status.
