Hello,

I was 9 years old when I went on my first trip to USA in 1997 with family for summer vacations. Since then, I have visited USA 7 more times. I never ever overstayed even a single day because I did not want to ruin my visa profile. Our family used to visit NY to my aunts house so that we can save money on hotels, obviously. And also, the main fact that I got married (nikkah) to my aunts daughter on Oct 3rd, 2015(MASJID AL-BADR ISLAMIC INC. Brooklyn) who lived in NY. I fell in love with her over the period of visits and stays.

I was shocked on the day when I landed on JFK airport on April 30th, 2017, when Trump deportation policy was on the rise, and I found myself surrounded by 5 or 6 border (luggage) control officers after my 'immigration was done to United States'. They started interrogating me about why I frequently visit USA. I had just landed a 33 hour journey including transition stay at some airport. I was mentally and physically drained and just wanted to see my wife and my relatives. They just basically kept asking the same question again and again, why I visit the USA so frequently and i kept telling them the same answer to visit family and to have fun. But they had bigger plans by cornering me down to accept that I worked there. Which i accepted unwillingly after being harrassed for literally 4 hours. Keep in mind all this time I was literally dehydrated and kept asking for water as my throat was completely dry. They gave me a sip in a paper shaped cone thing!

Having no criminal record, I could not believe I was being deported. I was allowed one phone call to make so I called my father-in-law waiting outside JFK with my wife. I was never made aware of my rights if I was allowed to call a lawyer or anything.

Now my wife came here to live with me in Karachi, Pakistan. I have a good construction management firm since 2011, M/S. ALAM ASSOCIATES (NTN verified). Wanting to create an even better life I approached a lot of Canadian immigration consultation services, they approve how both of our points stack up through the free online evaluation. And telling us to go ahead to apply for immigration obviously they don't know about my deportation and that im banned to apply for USA visa for another 5 years.

So I just wanted to be honest and tell you all this. So I can get an honest and a hopeful reply that if all this will matter while applying for Canadian immigration?

Just a regular educated couple wanting to secure a better life.

Yes - you can apply to immigrate to Canada. You need to make sure you are 100% truthful in your application about your US immigration history - including the deportation and ban.

Thank you for your reply.

I was more over looking for some sort of hope that will the immigration application be overlooked/rejected or there are chances of acceptance? Can you please give your personal opinion as to what you think.

Again, as long as you are 100% honest about your immigration history, there are no issues applying.
