My husband had been the subject of a Deportation Order ten years ago, he eventually left the country. Then I sponsored him to come back to Canada. He is a Canadian citizen now.
He wants to sponsor his parents to become PR.
I was helping him to fill out the application form IMM1344E, under the sponsorship eligibility assessment question 11: have you been ordered to leave Canada. The instruction said if he answers "yes" to this question, he might not be eligible to be a sponsor.
Does deportation order = order to leave Canada? Even that's ten years ago, and he got his Authorization to Return to Canada after?

Thanks,

Does he know that he can't submit the application to sponsor his parents until January 2017?
