my wife has a son but does not have custody of him nor has she been able to even talk to him for over 6 years they is no plans in ever having him come to canada under any circumstances so he was not put on the forms is this any problem

Could be a problem. Any child under the age of 22 that is not married or common law is considered dependant and has to be included whether they are accompanying you or not and has to go for the medical etc. If they are not, they cannot ever be sponsored by your wife in the future. I am not sure but I have heard of people being turned down for leaving out a child and immigration finding out they exist. I would maybe write a letter explaining the situation and still include them on the form with what information you know. Maybe someone else on the forum has more information but that is my understanding.

That is my understanding too , and your file could be denied for misrepresentation.

I asked this question too, because I'm in a very similar situation as your wife.

I have included them on my application, and though my ex refused to take them for a medical, he is writing a letter stating that he refused to let them have a medical, and I will be sending that to CIC as soon as they have my file on record. I included my kids on my application but left out the part where it asked for their medical information, and added on a separate sheet of paper that I wasn't seeking PR status for them. I understand that I may also be asked to sign something stating that I am banned from ever sponsoring them in the future, and though it breaks my heart, I have no other choice.

Definitely include the kids on the application though! If you don't and CIC find out that they exist, your application may very well be turned down for misrepresentation.

I heard the the immigration will likely know about undeclared children or wives when an immigrant landed in canada and then they sponsor their dependents. so does it mean that they have no capacity to know the undeclared dependents during application's background check? I have read many situations about it and i think the immigration can avoid it if they have the means to know about the immigrants children aside from depending on the papers declarations.
