Hi,
My name is parantap and I am 22 years this Jan.my parents and my sister are permanent residents of Canada and soon to be Residents there.
I am full time enrolled student at a university outside Canada and also am dependent due to this reason
I could not stay with my parents in Canada but I visited them every vacation.
I have been a PR since 3years but only stayed in Canada for 4-5months.I still need to finish my graduation
Which will take 1more year.I am sure that I cannot meet the residency obligation.

Is there any possibility I can keep my PR status maintained.I can stay in Canada after an year for as long as needed.I might only need an extension of an year.PlZ let me know what can be possible

There is nothing you can apply for now that will allow you to stay outside Canada longer. Once you graduate, you have to take your chances entering Canada without a problem. If your PR card is still valid, you will most likely not have any problems. Arrange your health care, SIN and drivers license while your PR card is still valid. Stay in Canada at least 2 years straight and only then apply to renew your PR card. Your PR card expiring while you are in Canada will not do you any harm but if you apply to renew too early, they can say you do not meet the residency requirements and you will have a problem.
