Hi........i am a social worker and got PR recently and my wife is also accompanying me as dependent and she is a graduate nurse and did not appear any language tests till now.Can she work as any form of nurse in canada without regstn or she needs to get registered there to work, is language test mandatory for registration, please advice me?

As far as I know, you have to register in the province that you are going to work in and she has to apply for the CRNE test and
fill in the application (costs about 650CAD for RN and less for enrolled nurses, or practitioner nurse as they call them in Canada,m I believe.

As Scandinavian said, she must apply for registeration in the province you intend to live in, after assessment of certificates, the college will inform her whether she is eligible for CRNE, or will undergo further studies or recommend registration as RPN. In all language proficiency is required. The good thing is, you can star the process in your home country but the exam will be taken in Canada. Also, language test is not the first thing you will be required of. So if you desire, request for the initial application package, the person can start preparing for the language proficiency test and take it from there. Note that test result have validity period. You must ascertain all these from the college of nursing involved.
