Dependent PR question

I got my PR last month. I'm currently in USA and going to make a soft landing in Canada in October stay there for a week then go to India to get married.

My question is can I apply for dependent PR for my wife immediately after I get married? As I would have stayed in Canada for only a week.. Also her visiting visa was rejected recently

You can apply to sponsor your new wife immediately. However you must be physically living in Canada when you apply to sponsor her and you must continue living in Canada while her application is processed. You cannot sponsor her from outside of Canada.

You should have a Job in Canada, should be earning enough money to support yourself and your would be spouse. Then only you can sponsor.

There’s actually no income requirement to sponsor. You can sponsor a spouse without having a job.
