Hi,
Me and my husband both are working for a multinational company in India. We have to travel to Canada shortly for some work assignment. We have a 4 months old baby girl. My father passed away in September'2010. My mother is a housewife and fully dependent on me. There is no one except me to take care of her here in India. I will apply for a Canada visitor visa for my mom.But I know this will be valid for 6 months. Since I have to stay there for more than a year, how many times I can extend my mom's visitor visa ? Will she be allowed to stay in Canada with us for more than a year or two ? Thank you very much.

You can try to extend the visa as many times as you want to. However there's no guarantee the extension will be approved. It's unlikely you will be able to keep on extending the visa to cover a two year period. However I'm sure some have been successful.

You need to seriously consider that she will not be granted a TRV.
Because there is an obvious risk that she would overstay, an IO will see this and is likely to refuse the visa.

First of all. I am sorry for your loss.

As long as you can prove that she will come back to India, you dont have to worry. Now that your father is also not there, the only other thing is a property (house). Does she have the house in her name? If yes, apply and you dont have to worry.

BTW, dont mention that she cannot live without your help, that is a -ve point.
