Dependent landing first

Hi Friends,
I am planning to apply for express entry with my wife as primary applicant.
If we are through the process successfully, can I (dependent) go to Canada first and stay there for first 6 months so that I can make basic arrangements? or is it mandatory that the primary applicant should reach first?
