Good night peeps, i have a quick question. If you are sponsering your spouse who have children, but the kids are not the sponser biological kids, does the process takes longer or not? Anyone who has experience this and have any insight would be great. Thanks

I don't think it takes longer if the kids are still young but if they are over 18 and need their own background checks, I think it could easily add some time. In any case, it's a moot point because it's not like you can leave the kids off the application. If your spouse has kids, they have to be included on there and the processing will take whatever time it takes as with everybody else.

It makes for a somewhat more complicated application but won't necessary lengthen the processing time.

Your spouse will need proof that the biological mother/father agrees to the children being removed from their own country and to move to Canada.

As long as you have irrefutible proof (i.e. notarised documentation) it shouldn't cause too much of a delay.
