Hi, I am not arguing..trying to understand the requirement.
To be more clear...
I got my PR in Sep 2017 while I was in canada itself
I lived in canada until 2018 end (1 yr after landing). Then went back to India and came to Toronto again in Dec 2020.
I find it somewhat easier to reformulate the minimum days-in-Canada requirement to maximum days out-of-Canada, because the latter formulation is the same regardless of when one landed.
In brief: saying you must be in Canada 730 days (two years in five) is the same as saying you cannot be out of Canada more than 1095 days (five 365 day years minus 730) in any five year period beginning the day you land.
Eg If you have been in Canada only five days, you qualify, because you have not been out of Canada 1095 days since the day you landed. The one important caution is that beginning on the five-year anniversary of landing, you start to 'lose' days from the earlier part of your PR status.
I hope that helps. I haven't tried to check against your travel dates or the dates of your spouse. But it should be a pretty simple calculation if thought of this way.
