Dependent Candidate for PR

Hi ,

We have recently received our Visa with respect to application for PR. This is a Provincial PR sponsored by Saskatchewan. We are planning to travel in a few months . I want to know if it is necessary for the dependent candidate to also stay in the State for a few months/years that is required ?

When you complete your initial landing all members of your family including the accompanying dependants who land at the same time or later must all meet the residency obligation as individuals.

So what this means is that everyone must accumulate in Canada 2 years out of 5 years from initial landing

There is no minimum stay requirement from initial landing you can leave same day if you want as long as still come back in time to meet the 2 out of 5 requirement. As said that applies to all PR holders dependant or not, failing to do so can lead to PR status being revoked on entry back into the country.

From initial landing someone can stay out of Canada for near 3 years without issue but then they would need to stay in Canada for 2 years without leaving to meet the residency obligation
