Hi,

I have been living in Canada for over a year on a visitor's visa. My partner and I are in the process of sending in my sponsorship application as common-law partner for Permanent Residence. My partner is Canadian and we have a two months old baby who is also Canadian by Birth.
My question is in regards to filling the child dependant form on the common law sponsorship for PR application. Would I still need to fill in my new born's details on the applicant's dependant form since she is my child though she is a Canadian citizen by birth?

Thanks

No. Your baby is not your dependent for the purpose of your sponsorship because she is a citizen already. She is an additional family member, she is listed in section B on the IMM5406.

Thanks Charlie.

I have another question regarding the IMM 5406 form. The section C in the GUIDE 5289 states that I do not complete the C section if I am applying from within Canada which I am. Just below the `` do not Complete`` is another information stating:

``Write personal details about your:

brother(s),
sister(s),
half-brother(s) and half-sister(s),
step-brother(s) and step-sister(s)``

Does this mean I leave section C unfilled though I have siblings back in my home country or I am expected to write out personal details for each of them on separate sheets instead of filling in the deatails.

Thanks

You need to fill in the details of your siblings in Section C.
