Hello all, hopefully someone can help me with this issue.

My husband applied for his extension to stay in Canada. 2 weeks he was requested additional documents which was uploaded. Later when we went back to double check it was giving some errors that we couldn't view it. It was too late to change anything but i thought it was just an error on our part. Today we received the letter saying his application was refused. It listed the reasons why they denied it which it had to do with those documents being request. So I'm thinking what if they never had a chance to review those. Would it be possible to appeal this? It says he has to leave immediately. So does anyone know how long it would take or how long he has to appeal this decision?

Thanks.

The officer based his decisions on the information that s/he has. Is your husband within the 90 days of the allowed visit expiry?

If he is still within his allowed visit, you can send another application for extension, attach a copy of the letter you received, and a letter explaining the request and failure, for the additional documents; of course you need to pay the $150 application fee again. You can do it by mail or courier, in that way all documents that are requested are properly attached. Make sure that CPC-Vegreville receives the application before the expiry date, else, it would probably be get refused again and the cost would be higher (application $150 + $200 restoration fee).

No but he only has 12 days left.

Thanks for providing me with that information! I'll send it off today but what happens after the 12 days has passed? Would it be ok to stay up until i hear back from them again? I know it takes a bit longer by mail which is why i applied online in the first place. (yea i failed to mention that part) Also I paid $75 for the application is it now 150 to reapply again?

Ooopppssss , is it $75? My bad. Okay. $75 (was thinking of WP app). Anyway, he'll be on implied status till you received a response from CPC-V (a Visitor Record or a letter of refusal). All the best.
