Hi,
I have a multiple entry tourist visa. My brother and mother are Canadian citizens already. My brother wants to hire a caregiver for our elderly mother. He received an LMO. He wanted to hire me instead and i agreed to take care of our mother. I am a 60 year old housewife. My children are all grown.
Somebody advised us (badly) that i can get a working visa if i do the Flagpole and bring the LMO with me. When i got to the flagpole, the officer very nicely advised me that what i did was not the right procedure. And so I was told that she would gladly see me back in Canada but i have to apply from outside of Canada. The officer gave me the LMO and said that i should tell the Canadian embassy from the country i would be applying from about what happened. When i left Canada, i had an immigration escort with me. They said that this is all procedure and they wish to see me back in Canada soon.
I am about to apply from the Philppines now to get my work visa. I want to explain to the embassy abt what happened but they do not entertain queries and applicants do not get a chance to speak with the embassy staff to get advise.
I plan to write the embassy explaining what happened to me. I already have an LMO with me.
I want to know:
1. Will it hurt my chances to get a visa since i unwittingly didnt follow the correct procedure?
2. The Flagpole officer was very nice and helpful, but will this incident be put on my records?
3. Will it hurt my chances that i had an immigration officer escort me at the airport (even if he was friendly)
I hope someone can give me advise.
Thank you very much.
