Hi all,

I was just wondering if i applied for citizenship only after renewing my immigrant visa, will my residency of 1,095 days in my initial immigrant visa of 5yrs still counts? or I will have to live another 1, 095 days before I can apply for one? will the government question me about delaying of the application?

thanks =)

No effect, it is 1095 days in the 4 years prior to the date you apply. Whenever you meet that you can apply.

Hi,

Just have a follow-up question......what if I did not renew my immigrant visa but I already met the 1,095 days of residency in Canada during my first 4 years of stay.......went to live in another country, then years later decided to apply for Canadian citizenship.....is this possible? or I will have to have a valid immigrant visa in order to apply for citizenship?

thanks =)

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
In order to apply for citizenship, you must still be a permanent resident and you must meet the 1095 days in Canada requirement in the 4 year period before you apply so if you went to another country and lived there for years and lost your PR because of it, there would be 2 reasons you can not apply, 1 is that you are not PR any more, 2 is that you have zero days in Canada within the previous 4 years.
