Delayed processing times

I and my family made a joint application on July 19 and since then there has been no updates. . I have also sent a couple of enquiries which they just respond to and nothing happens. Pls could any one tell me what to do?

I applied for a student permit while my other family members applied for visitors visa. We applied from Nigeria
