Hi all.

I was looking at the CRS Score Tool and one of the questions is "Have you earned a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate?".
It said that one should have studied at a school within Canada and lasted for at least 8 months.

So I would like to ask
1. Is there any specific requirement on the school such as being in the DLI list or just any school is acceptable?
2. Is a certificate issued by a Canadian Flight School accepted?

Also for the "level of education",
3. Can I choose the answer "Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years " if I have one foreign degree (recognized by ECA) and one Canadian certificate?

Thanks!

1. Must be a DLI
2. Generally they are not.
3. Yes, as long as the certificate meets the requirements to get points.

It is because the flight school that I chose is listed on the DLI List. After I finish the courses and get the Commercial Pilot License, they will issue me a certificate. So in this case, you are saying that even though it is a DLI, the certificate would not be recognized as a "Canadian Certificate" under EE?

Do you qualify for a PGWP?

Yes I do. Every student getting a Commerical Pilot License in a DLI Flight School is qualified to get the PGWP.

I will get the license from the Canadian Aviation Authority and somekind of a graduation certificate from the flight school.

That's why I'm not sure about whether I can use this certificate in EE since flight school isn't a traditional college or something like that.

The license cannot be used for points.

I'm not sure about the certificate. Normally I would say you are good to go as long as your program qualifies for a PGWP. However I am not as clear when it comes to flight schools.

Yeah flight school is a tricky part even for the PGWP and they even need to specifically include a section just for flight school in the website. Guess it becomes more complicated when it comes to EE.

Maybe I'll send an email to both the school and IRCC. Thanks for your help again!

Btw I know that for a foreign degree, I need to also hand in the ECA report to my EE profile. If that's a Canadian Certificate, do I need to do similar things?
