Hello everyone,

I and my family is currently considering deferring my school admission due to family and current political issues here, my family could not guarantee that they could not fund me for my master's program in the upcoming year. Therefore, I would like to know if there is anyone who experienced enrollment deferral, can tell me about the process to defer, and most importantly, what will happen to my study visa and CAQ? Will Canada and Quebec governments refuse to extend my study permit?

A deferral in start-date is between you and your DLI. It shouldn’t affect your study permit application, though if you defer your start-date by 150 days or more, you’ll need to send us a new acceptance letter from your DLI.

As mentioned above, if you defer your start-date by 150 days or more, you’ll need to send us a new acceptance letter from your DLI.
