I know this has been asked many times, but it is still not clear to me what exactly should I declare, and what shouldn’t.

We are coming to Canada and bringing not much actually. Obviously, a few personal items (phones, laptop, ...).
So I have to declare a very old not expensive phone (which barely works, I am gonna throw them away at some point, but now I need it)
Or a couple of Bluetooth heart rate trackers?
Also what about books?

Could you guys give some examples? Thank you :)

Didn’t declare anything at all. The officer asked if we are bringing furniture or any other stuff later - we said no. And he just said we don’t need to declare anything.

According to my understanding of what the officer told us, this list includes some stuff that you are bringing to Canada later, perhaps when you will come to Canada next time. During this time, they will take the list and cross out what you are bringing (so they are exempt from duty tax).
