Hi guys,

My wife is a Canadian and she sponsors me.
I have a criminal record in my country in 2007 - summary conviction.
I paid the fine in November in 2007 .

We got emails regarding she's eligible to sponsor me and I'm eligible to apply for PR in Oct 8th, 2012.
And there was a letter for interview about our marriage in Mar 14th, 2013.
The interviewer told us I was inadmissible 1 year & 5 month after I applied for PR and I needed to apply for rehabilitation.

So I asked the interviewer if I could wait until 10 years of completion of my sentence because November next year would be 10 years.
And the interviewer told me that cic couldn't wait that long, which meant cic could wait for approval of my rehabilitation.

Tonight I just casually check my application status.
It say Decision Made - the office will contact you regarding this decision.

I know I can call tomorrow but
What are your opinions? or any experience like this?

Your timelines are a little confusing but I'll take a shot at it.

I am assuming it's just one offence and you have no prior or subsequent convictions of any kind. Is that correct?

If it was a minor offence and you were only fined, and you paid the fine in November 2007, then you would have become eligible to apply for criminal rehabilitation in November 2012. Did you file that rehabilitation application? I think that's what the interviewer was trying to tell you.

You needed to file that application in order to overcome your inadmissibility, otherwise you'll remain inadmissible to Canada. If you didn't file it, unfortunately, your PR application will probably be rejected.
