Hi,

About 3 weeks ago my online status changed to "Decision Made".
I'm located in Canada, and my file is in Ottawa.
My full description is:
We received your application for permanent residence on April 16, 2012.

We started processing your application on May 15, 2013.

Medical results have been received. (These were submitted May 2012)

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

My partner is on a single-employer work permit, and I'm on a open work permit. Both expire in January.
Should I pay the $300 to try and get our work permits extended, or can I expect word from Immigration before January?

I tried calling the call center, but after 30 minutes on hold they tell me they can't say anything about anything.
Thanks for your insight.

Wait 30 days before your work permit expires before you apply? If your work permit expires on January 10, you can apply on January 9 and get implied status so you can still continue working...January is still far away

You will certainly hear from CPP-O long before January 2014. Normally, it only goes to DM when they've issued the COPR (or a refusal letter - but you'd know if there were any issues because they have to contact you up front first.)

So CPP-O replied to my email...
They sent the letter to my old home address 3 days ago. Even though my address has been updated on ECAS for about 8 months...

I've emailed back asking them to send another copy to my current address.

Good luck with that one. This is why I suggest to people they maintain mail forwarding until they are done dealing with CIC.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will get the new one by January.

If you don't have it, apply for work permit extensions at the last moment and do it via the slowest path (probably paper submission - just make sure that CIC receives it before your existing WPs expire). Then you can just go land. While it will cost you $300 up front (for the WP extensions) if you land before they process the applications, they will reject the work permits and then refund the fee to you (that's exactly what happened to me - almost 100 days for a WP extension. I filed it in August, received my COPR in October and in November they rejected the WP extension because I wasn't eligible for a work permit. Refund came in December.)

Well this is a bit frustrating. I emailed them on October 11 informing them that they sent the decision to the wrong address.
I didn't hear back, so I sent an email again on October 25, and they replied back saying that my first email is in "the queue for action."

It's now November 5 and my permit expires in January. Cutting it close. :(

my status was changed to DM in mid-september too. Until now, I have not heart from them. I tried to contact them, they said they sent already but i still have not received it, i am not sure what they are doing

Can't you ask them to just email you the letter? I believe someone else in the forum did that before.
Did you ask them to send you correspondence through mail instead of email? Because I never get any physical mail from CIC, they've always just sent me an email...

They haven't responded to my last 3 emails except to say "It's in the queue." I'm afraid that sending them another email would just annoy them.
