Decision Made but have not heard!

Hi All,

I logged in today to check on my wife's application (She is American and I am Canadian) and saw that the status has been updated to "Decision Made" (I am not sure when the update occurred). The following message was also shown (Below). We have checked our email boxes and have not seen an email from the CIC. I check our mail (snail mail) every day and have seen no letter. Has anyone here experienced how long it takes to get word on WHAT decision was made? Also, what exactly am I looking for? I wish they would just put on the website what decision was made! Thank you very much in advance!

We received [NAME] application for permanent residence on March 18, 2013.

We started processing [NAME] application on November 22, 2013.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on [NAME] application. The office will contact [NAME] concerning this decision.

in my case they send me e mail after decision made hope fully they will post you letter and after that they will transfer your case to your visa office and your status will be update on online and you can check your status after getting identification number which they will send you through post or e mail.

My wife who is American has same the same status update. Just different dates. We are not sure exactly when it was updated either but a week or so previous on Sept 25 she got an email requesting a copy of her US passport to finish processing her application. Then on Nov 7th she got another email asking for immigration photos. Somehow we forgot to include the ones we had done in the original application. We haven't heard anything since but tracking shows they got the photos on Nov 12. We are hoping it is a positive decision. I think what we are both looking for are the COPR forms to complete the landing. They come snail mail.

Canuckluvus thanks for that! That makes us feel a bit better. It's frustrating to wait so long and not know where the mail is!

I think it also depends where you are applying, inland vs outland and also on the individual VISA office (if outland) in my case, they have my passport since a few weeks ago, assuming "decision has been made" but zero updates on the e-cas system (latest update i have is "application received" )

2. We sent you a letter on December 4, 2013 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

please help me what does this statuses means ..hope for reply ..

it sounds like a DM regarding the sponsorship application. The sponsor will receive a letter in the mail soon I guess as it was mailed on Dec 4th

The sponsor part of your application was approved, and your application has now been sent to the outland visa office for applicant processing. Depending on the visa office, it could be several months before you hear from them again.

Did you include your email for sponsor and applicant, in the forms? If so then the sponsor should have got an email on Dec 4, with the sponsor decision made letter as an attachment. If you didn't get it then that means CIC doesn't have your correct email, or it went into your junk email folder. You might want to contact CIC or your visa office to ensure they have your correct email address.

because they only send e mail to my wife about decision made and application has forwarded .

In our case the sponsor approval email went only to sponsor.
The AOR from outland visa office went to both sponsor and applicant's emails.
The email asking for more information, went to only the sponsor email. Though I'm pretty sure this one was a mistake and should have gone to applicant. And every visa office probably does a bit differently. So in other words there's no guarantee. Always monitor both emails.

in our case, they had my email but when they notified me that my sponsorship application was approved it was by snail mail. So it could come either way.
