hey everyone :)

wondering if someone can clear this for me?
my mothers father was born in Canada in 1898. my mother and her twin sister were born in the US October of 1942.
we have all the needed information to get my mother and my Aunt recognized as Canadian Citizens - and that is the route me and my Aunt are taking. what we are doing is going through Canada Gov and submitting a search for proof form (because we cannot find out if Government Canada recieved records of their birth in 1942) and we are also submitting a form for the certificate. now here is where the problem is...

my mother and my Aunt were born 8 minutes apart in October of 1942. at birth, according to the law- they are canadian citizens.
all of my life i have been told that i have dual citizenship because my grandfather was born in canada. i was born in 1968- before the new law change in 1977. according to that law- i was born under dual even if i am a second generation.
so- i am wondering if this is true? and if it isnt- thats why we are taking the route of getting both my mother and my aunt recognized as canadian. the problem is coming in now that my mother cannot recieve a certificate of her citizenship because she is dead. she died in 2004. the lady at the immigration work center told me that Canada will run a search on both my mother and my aunt. if they are indeed proven to be Canadian citizens - then my Aunt will recieve a certificate. they will not issue a certificate on my mother because she is dead. but that her Citizenship will be recorded with the Government. SO-
how do i go about getting access to my dual status if i do not hold a certificate on my mother? is her birth being recognized by the Canadian Government going to be enough for me to access dual with?
