I think people dont understand the details of the new law, hence the reason why there is a lot of mix up. For applicants dating back to 2007/2008, i do not think there is any limit to the number of visas issued.

Hi Buddy,

Quota system is there from a very long time and evey visa office can issue a certain number of visas every year and now its an end of the year so many visa offices have already issued the visa which they are allowed per year so thats why they are writing letters to applicants. its only now that they have changed the quota to per NOC rather than each individual office, so uptil end of this year visa offices still have to follow there quota for the year and from next year it will be 1000 CAP for each NOC.

Cheers

Dear Saki,

Would you please reply to the following,

1. Is quota of visas at VOs per NOC or is it per year regardless no. of visas issued per NOC for pre-June 2010 applicants like us.

2. Suppose if someone has done medicals in March-2010 & not been issued visa yet & if gets his/her visa in Jan or Feb 2011, then how much validity will his/her visa has? I mean will visa have validity of one year from date of medical request or since it is issued after almost 10 months of medical request, VO would give extended visa validity.

Thanks is advance.

Its per year regardless of NoC but from next year it will be per noc because of the new rules.

If medical is done in march n visa is issued in feb then visa is valid for 1 month only and visa office will not extend it as medical is valid for 1yr only

Thanks is advance.

Hi uk2canada and others,

I guess right now we can at best speculate on the outcome. For obvious reasons, I inclined to think positively :)

Good Luck to all.

Don't you guys think the delays with issuing visas might be a tactic to discourage people from wanting to immigrate to Canada? For example, since medical is valid for one year and a visa is issued one month to the end of the medical validity, what will happen if the person can not make it in the little time frame? I guess the person then has to re do the medicals and another long wait begins!!

Fernandes,

Yes offocurse it is to make things a little difficult. and once the visa is stamped and not used, remedicals is not an option. You have to then apply all over again and obviously so many professions now ineligible.

Mirza, you make a whole lot of sense .I wonder if they really need what they are doing cos at the end of thr day, we need the country as much as they need us.But if the medicals expire before they call for your passport, re medical is an option!!

i sent them an email and they have just confirmed that my medicals result has been received and they do not anticipate requesting for passport until Dec/Jan 2011. I am beginning to think the annual limits to visas might be true. But checking out the statement, it says we do no anticipate no that they would not sent the request, so it is still possible to get the request before January.

Hi

Fernendez bro i am telling you the truth i am not making it by myself about the visa limits, you can ask PMM, Maaties and Qorax they are way senior to me and know more than me, they will be able to explain you about the visa limits, i myself came to know about this after reading their posts.

Cheers
