I have read Qorax's topic about background/security check, it is really good.
My situation is following:
I have applied provincial nomination program on January 2013 and my application is processing on Aug 2013. I have submit my medical results and The Right of Permanent Residence Fee on the end of Aug 2013. As far as I know, the other applicants who is the same situation as mine have already acquired their picking up letter after they submit their fee, Which is usually only two weeks. One thing need mention is our cases are in Hong Kong. I also write to VO about my status and got no reply from them. I think maybe they take background check/security check for me. I had oversea study experiences 10 years ago, maybe they think they need to check it. My question is can somebody tell me do they take general back ground check or security check for me? In you opinion, is it only security check or not? Some applicants told me it is a general practice for HK to take some background check after Medical results received, is it correct? Please tell me.
