DD of CAD 1500 for OINP

Hi All,

I wanted to check with some of the OINP applicants from India if they managed to get a DD which was valid for 6 months.

Most of the banks are issuing it for 3 months only because it is Reserve Bank of India rules. Please advice guys.

If it would be expired, OINP ll ask for new DD.

I got it from ICICI Bank for 6 months.

We got it from HDFC with 6 months expiry.

When did you get this and from which city? It seems that recently Reserve Bank of India has changed their rules for DD validity to 3 months. I verbally checked with HDFC and they told 3 months. Please advice guys.

In Jan, from the Regional branch in New Mumbai.

Spot on dude. That's the branch in New Mumbai and yes the DD mentions that it needs revalidation if it is being used after 6 months from the issue date.

Go for SBI. I believe they're still issuing FDD with 6 months validity.

I got it from Malad branch in mid Jan.

I got it from ICICI with 6 months validity and when i checked with HDFC they also told it is 6 months valid. Have you asked specifically international DDs. Domestic DDs will expire in 3 months as per RBI but international DDs have 6 months validity

Yes, I soecifically checked this and told them DD to be made in Canadian Dollars. They told 6 months. On top of it asked me to get Form 15A and 15B filled from chartered Accountant. Nevertheless SBI issued me 6 months DD without much hassles.

Yes, I soecifically checked this and told them DD to be made in Canadian Dollars. They told 6 months. On top of it asked me to get Form 15A and 15B filled from chartered Accountant. Nevertheless SBI issued me 6 months DD without much hassles.

No such forms were asked to be filled at SBI.
