Hi,

Somebody said; if you have a 5 year Multi-Entry Visa for US, you
could enter Canada by road, for a day, provided you returned back to
US the same day. Is this true !!

There is an exemption for Permanent Residents of the US, but not as far as I know for people with multi-entry visitor visas to the US. You may be exempt based on your nationality, though - you can find the details at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp
