Based on what I have read on forums one of the things that can likely trigger an RQ is if the original date of entry is left blank on the IMM 5292. I came to Canada on student visa in 2007 and received my PR in 2012, thus my original date of entry should be 2007 however I noticed that not only for me but for 3 other people which have a similar situation as me and have done their landing at different places all have a blank date of original entry (Option 36)!
I was wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation (blank date of entry despite being in Canada before PR landing) and got an RQ because of that! or if their is anyone that successfully got their citizenship even though they had a blank date of entry and had lived in Canada before becoming a PR?

Thanks!

How did you land? Was your PR process inland or outland?
I have just checked my Confirmation of PR paper, and realized that my original entry date is the same as the date I became PR. I came to Canada on student visa first in early 2010 and became PR in 2012 just like you. In my case, at that time I was on visitors visa in Canada and went to Prescott -Canada/US border- to land after receiving PR by mail. My mother in my home country sent me.

I did my landing in Windsor(Inland) the friends that I told you about did their landing in Buffalo.

While you were filling out your application, on the second page there are two questions about when did you become a permanent resident and when did you first enter Canada ? Did you mention the two different dates ? If yes, you are ok and you have no problems.

Yes I did but then I came across the following information so I don't know how to interpret the blank on my landing conformation forms ;)

TRIAGE CRITERIA / RISK INDICATORS

- Applicant Characteristics:
A1 - Use of a suspect residential address.
A2 - NCB in FOSS, Warning or Note(s) in GCMS indicating a concern.
A3 - Previous citizenship applications which were not approved, withdrawn, abandoned, renounced or revoked.
A4 - Discrepancy in absences between citizenship application and CIC information during the relevant 4 years period.
A5 - Self-identified as a consultant, self-employed or unemployed, with any travel during the relevant 4 year period.
A6 - Absences to home country to sell land/property or to take care of ill family member during the relevant 4 year period.
A7 - Applicant has self declared having less than 1095 days of physical presence.

- Family Characteristics:
B1 - Child born outside Canada during the relevant 4 year period.
B2 - A child has made a non-concurrent minor application.

- Documents
C1 - ID (provided in support of application) has been issued within 3 months of date of application.
C2 - Inconsistency between address on ID and address on application form.
C3 - Photograph and/or signature on the application do not resemble photograph and/or signature on identity document.
C4 - NPR time (non permanent resident time) has been used in the calculation of basic residence and the original entry data used does not appear on the IMM 1000, the Confirmation of Permanent Residence or in CIC records.

I see your point.
Me too I just discovered that my IMM-5292 is expired. I hope there will be no problem with that.
I did a small search on CIC website, and I found that CIC admits that their officials do make mistakes on IMM - 5292.

Anyway, wait till they get back to you and write them a letter explaining your situation.

Here is the link for CIC about mistakes on IMM-5292: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/amend.asp

Where are you guys finding this date of original entry thing in the IMM5292? There is no such thing on mine. In anycase, I included a copy of my original entry stamp with my application.

@Windsor_PhD, not having the original date of entry in the CoPR does not mean that it is not recorded in the immigration system.

I came to Canada as student, I do not have the original date of entry in my CoPR, and I did NOT get an RQ for the citizenship.

Yes, mine is blank. They should have that information in the system and the stamp in your passport should help too. Try not to worry about RQ because what will be will be. :D
