I am filling CIT 0002 and the question 13 asks about citizenship status in other countries. The country I was born in ceased to exists and separated into smaller countries. I hold a passport of a descendant country. What should I put into "Date Obtained" column of the table? Should it be my date of birth or the date of official appearing of my current country of citizenship? I never officially did any paperwork to get that citizenship.

I would think it should be 'From birth'. Logic being, for example, if you currently hold a Ukrainian passport, but were born in the former USSR, you have always been of Ukrainian origin as part of a federal USSR structure. This is probably simpler to explain to IRCC if required. Guess the same applies to former Yugoslavia.
