Date of Birth on the Backside of Photos

Do I need to write down my date of birth on the back side of the photos? I heard someone that I need to write but CIC does not ask for my date of birth.

Are you in Canada?

I have never put in my date of birth behind any photos I have sent CIC. In my experience what usually is written on the back is the stamp from the photographer/studio where it was taken and the date.
