Damascus , Waiting, Residency Questionnaire Form

Hello all,



I am a Permanent Resident of Canada and have applied to sponsor my wife. We got married in Feb. 2010 and start sending our application in April 2010. We got sponsor acceptance letter from Mississauga in May 2010 and Damascus sent us the file No. in June 22. In July 19, Damascus sent an email requesting to fill out Residency Questionnaire form. The form was sent in August 11.

Due to my marriage reception, I was in Iran from Feb. 2010 to August 08, 2010. I am a PhD student in Canada. Do you think my stay in Iran can affect the application? What would be the approximate processing time?

Dear Iman,
Welcome to this forum. In this forum we have a thread for Damascus office just search "Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009".
You will find a lot of things in the thread.
After 5 months of silence Damascus is starting working again.During this last week they contact some applicants and asks for their passports.It is a good sign that they sent you the questionnair,it seems that it is almost the last steps.
Did you fill the inquiry?If not fill it again they will update your case and you will find out if they have recieved the documents.
For your absence in Canada I don't think it will be a problem because you had you ceremony it must be convincing for them,don't worry.
