Damaged Indian Passport after PPR

Hi All,

I have received my PPR on 3rd August and today when I went to the VFS centre for submitting the passport (India), I was sent back saying that my passport is damaged. It has water damage and my photograph is discoloured.

It will be great help if you could let me know what procedure did you follow for re-issuing your passport.
I have a few questions regarding the same:

1) Should I request for an extension in the deadline for passport submission? If yes, what was the procedure?
2) How should I inform CIC about the details of my new passport?
3) How long will it take for me to get my new passport? Can I apply under tatkal category?

it takes 3 days to get a new passport under tatkal. but you need to be present at your address when the police officer comes for verification.
you shoud ask for extension using the CSE webform explaining your situation.
