Hello everyone,
I have Canadian PR with expired H1b currently in US planning to move to Windsor and commute daily to Michigan.

Anyone here who is commutting to US from Canada on expired H1b but valid I797 on Auto Visa Revalidation(AVR)?

I will really appreciate your reply.

Thanks.

hey - can you share your experience on this went?
Were you able to commute daily on AVR?

Hello, Yes I was able to daily commute on AVR. We have to present passport. As long is I94 is valid and you satisfy all the requirements of AVR, you should be fine.

Thank you so much - did you import your car - anything else that needs to be taken care of?
Also, how long did you do this for?

Also, if you dont mind me asking, did you family?

Hello,
did they asked where you stay? bcz AVR rule says following “
  • Nonimmigrants who departed the United States for brief travel to Canada, Mexico, or an adjacent island (for F and J nonimmigrants) for thirty days or less;
  • Nonimmigrants with a valid (unexpired) admission stamp or paper Form I-94, Arrival/Departure Record, endorsed by DHS.”

are you still traveling on expired h1b visa? what documents you need to carry and what do you answer if they asked you where you live and where are you going?

Appreciate it if you can give more details on your experience
Thank you,

Thank you,

It was pretty evident I stayed in Canada since I was commuting daily for work. I dont remember asking why. I dont think it matters as long as you visit US within 30 days.
