Dear Leon and other respected Seniors

I just got my PR(haven't land yet) but I am facing a difficulty to go to Canada now because I had to stay in my home country to take care of my dad.
My question is what are my options to keep my PR status?

Would I be able to extend PR with proof my dad's illness? Or
Would I be able to keep PR status to work in a Canadian firm which located in my home country?

This is a great anxiety to me and I really don't know what to do now.

Could you please give out your best advice?
thank you very much

Jonathan

You must land before your PR visa expires.

After that, you have 3 years you can be outside Canada without a problem. If you can not make other arrangements for your father, you stand a chance of being able to keep your PR with proof of his illness and that you are taking care of him.

If you want to keep your PR by working for a Canadian employer, you should get hired in Canada and start working and then the company would have to transfer you to their overseas location.
