Currently on first IEC work permit from the UK and applying in Canada for 2nd

For people who are already on a working holiday visa and applying for their second one within Canada...after you receive your POE through stage 2, where do you go to get your new visa? Will it come in the post or would you need to go to a border to get the new permit?

Also do you need to leave the country for the new one to be activated?

You have to flagpole.

For example, being in Calgary, i drove to Montana border.

You go into the states, go into the room, explain your reasoning for coming to the border, they reject your entry into the states, escort you back through to canada, you then speak to a visa officer in there and get your second year work permit issued there.

Then you drive back.
